FutureDeluxe

FutureDeluxe is a research-driven global creative studio focused on experimentation.

This group of artists and creative technologists in London, LA, Sydney, and NYC rely on collaboration to create aspirational content for future-facing projects. The studio seeks to define and explore the edges of emergent visual and technical cultures by leaning into ever-evolving art & design frameworks alongside novel engagements with technology.

Their research works in a three-direction scheme: conceptual, aesthetic and technical. This way, they want to ensure they’re pushing forward, experimenting with different ways of working in unfamiliar fields and new technologies like in their “Morphing Clay'' project, a real-time, interactive experience designed in collaboration with Google to breathe new life into traditional Chinese ceramics. FutureDeluxe has created the titles for OFFF Festival and for interactive exhibition-related research like “Expressive Computer Vision”, a series of exploratory systems designed to guide a computer in painting portraits and abstracts creatively after interpreting inputs like photography, 3D scan data and video.

YOUR SYSTEM IS A GARDEN, TOO

This anti-interactive installation urges patience by inviting us to become active participants in mindfulness and attention. From the moment we enter this generative multi-channel algorithmic ecosystem, we become intrinsically linked to it. Our presence and stillness help the garden flourish, while our movement causes it to recede. Technological ecologies, which flourish or perish, allow us to reflect on our place and interactions within broader systems.

For this exhibition piece, Futuredeluxe have teamed up with creative audio studio Antfood and technology studio Artists&Engineers to create a generative artwork where sound and visuals work together.
