FIELD.IO

FIELD.IO is a London-based digital art practice founded in 2009 and led by digital artists Marcus Wendt.
Through digital techniques and experimentation, they’ve created their own language, which they use to explore a world in constant transformation.

On the threshold of technological singularity, their visions speculate on the future of the human condition and the as-yet invisible synthetic nature in which it exists. Their work stems from physical-sensorial experiences, unstable processes and chaotic, emergent systems. The pioneering avant-garde use of new technologies and design methods results in photography, time-based digital sculptures and immersive audiovisual installations that explore human identity in a post-digital world.

DEEP TIME

The threat of climate change leads us to a catastrophic future in which life disappears from the planet. As Morton’s hyper object theory states, the problem is so massive and unfathomable in space-time that it is beyond our ability to comprehend and react. But what if artificial intelligence allowed us to vary this dire scenario? Geological data and artistic models provide the necessary information to create multiple generative simulations. These poetic possibilities evolve in accelerated time, making us think about tomorrow differently.
