Joëlle Snaith

Joëlle Snaith is an audiovisual artist and designer working and living in London, UK.

As a product designer, her main focus is user experience and interaction design, visual design and prototyping. Working within the realm of live visuals and performance, she likes to explore the relationship between sound and form.

Snaith communicates her thoughts, ideas and messages on music visually, exploring the connection between what she hears, feels and sees. Using frequencies and minimal structures, she creates compositions sculpted mainly by sound. She’s the visual artist for electronic musician and DJ Richie Hawtin and a resident at FOLD, London.

DUALITY

Light and dark, order and chaos, minimal and maximal – opposites help us understand the world. Their coexistence is the basis of all creation stories humans invented to explain themselves. This work explores the multidimensionality and duality of opposites and their hypnotic dance of fusion. The symbiosis of contrasting elements and the complexity and nuances of internal and external conflict is amplified through sound and visual synchronisation, enhancing the visceral connection between the physical and the digital.
